Rapid Assessment of Markets (RAM) training

Join the upcoming Rapid Assessments of Markets (RAM) training, which will be hosted by the Red Cross of Serbia & supported by Austrian Red Cross in Belgrade, Serbia, 20-23 June 2023. This RAM-training will consist of both classroom and field exercise elements and is part of a regional CVAP project for Wester Balkan National Societies.

Join the upcoming Rapid Assessments of Markets (RAM) training, which will be hosted by the Red Cross of Serbia & supported by Austrian Red Cross in Belgrade, Serbia, 20-23 June 2023. This RAM-training will consist of both classroom and field exercise elements and is part of a regional CVAP project for Wester Balkan National Societies.

Learning objectives:

  1. To familiarise humanitarian practitioners and RCRC staff with the principles of market assessment and why they should be considering markets when assessing, designing and implementing (emergency) programmes.
  2. To provide RCRC staff with basic knowledge of and the ability to use the RAM tool and its key steps and tools.
  3. To disseminate best practice among participants and
  4. To practice the use of RAM tools during the field exercise.

Practical information:

  1. Participants should arrive in Belgrade/Serbia on 19th June 2023 as the training will start in the morning of 20th June.
  2. Each participant needs to ensure that their travel & accommodation arrangements are made and financed by their National Society/delegation. 
  3. Each participant is responsible for acquiring necessary travel & visa documents and complying with COVID-19 requirements and regulations. Please note that although most Covid-19 restrictions in Serbia are lifted at the time of writing, they might change with short notice.
  4. Training hosts will share a detailed agenda and admin note after the participant selection.

Selection requirements:

  1. Available for residential training;
  2. Fluent in written and spoken English;  
  3. Experience in domestic or international operations, program work, emergency response or support services (e.g. logistics) and prior CVA-experience;
  4. Completed first level CVA training or higher;
  5. Completed the IFRC e-learning course “Rapid Assessment for Markets”;
  6. Not having attended a face to face RAM-training before;
  7. National Society/delegation line manager approval.
