The Kenya Red Cross is convening a conference in partnership with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement: Innovation and Technology for Humanitarian Financial Assistance. The conference will bring together senior representatives and technical experts from across different sectors, including the humanitarian community, academia, government and the private sector, to look at the use of technology and potential for innovation in financial assistance programmes.

The event will provide an opportunity to exchange learning, promote innovative solutions and foster greater collaboration across organisations and sectors. Participants will be invited to share their reflections on how technology can be used to enable greater efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of financial assistance and consider the implications for future humanitarian action.

Through high level panel discussions, presentations, breakout workshops and an open marketplace, the conference will cover a range of topics, including latest developments in the use of digital payment systems, mobile money technology, data management, distributed ledger and blockchain initiatives, biometrics and the potential of cryptocurrencies.
