Description
This learning case study documents the Lebanese Red Cross’s (LRC) experience implementing remote Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) in a conflict affected context in Lebanon. Drawing on the final evaluation of the programme findings, it focuses on operational learning and key takeaways that could provide guidance to other National Societies interested in operating in similar contexts. Although remote programming seems to be more relevant nowadays, with increased security concerns for staff and volunteers and restricted humanitarian access in conflict settings, the evidence is still limited. LRC’s experience is an opportunity to provide evidence on how remote cash assistance can deliver cost efficient and accountable assistance at scale in conflict settings where access to affected populations is limited.
