Description
This case study explores the Multipurpose Cash Assistance response following the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon in late 2024 through a wellbeing lens. Cash assistance improved households' material conditions, health, safety, social relations, and autonomy. Helping them meet essential needs, access healthcare, secure safer living conditions, and reduce debt. Beyond financial relief, recipients reported psychological comfort, restored dignity, strengthened family and community ties, and increased decision‑making power (especially among women). The findings highlight cash assistance as a flexible, empowering modality that supports both immediate survival and recovery in complex humanitarian settings.
