This report presents a case study of the Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society’s rapid cash‑based emergency response to the November and December 2025 hailstorms in Eswatini. It outlines how prepositioned CVA funds enabled fast, dignified support to an estimated 1,022 affected households, describes the implementation process and outcomes, and highlights key lessons and recommendations for strengthening future cash responses and the powers of prepositioning. This short case study precedes a more comprehensive report of the response.

The film follows the real stories of individuals and families who were severely affected—those who lost their jobs, sustained serious injuries, or mourned the loss of loved ones. Through direct financial support, the CVA program gave them the dignity to choose what they needed most—whether it was food, shelter, or other essentials—helping them take meaningful steps toward recovery.
