Our goal is to positively change the situation of people affected by crisis or displacement. For this reason, we are constantly monitoring and evaluating our activities to ensure that they result in the desired impact. This section focuses on the effectiveness and impact of humanitarian cash assistance programmes, including findings from these processes, best practices and lessons learned.

The study showed that non-recipient households were better in terms of having higher income and lower in LSCI and RCSI scores than PDM 10 compared with ESSN recipient households, who relied on coping strategies more than before. The Food Consumption Score also deteriorated more for ESSN recipients more than non-recipients, even though the level of expenditure on food was higher.

Impacts on Refugees Living in Turkey: Findings from the Post-distribution Monitoring Survey (Round 10) on Emergency Social Safety Net (ESSN) Applicants

Monitoring and evaluation activities play a crucial role to strengthen the ESSN programme’s quality and accountability. Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) is the primary instrument to determine the effectiveness of the assistance and its impact on the life of recipients. PDM data was collected in the period between June and September 2020 under the COVID19- circumstances via remote outbound calls, showing significant changes.
