2024 Alumni CPDP Blog: Azra Bričić’s story
The continuation of this blog series will focus on the highlights from the recent Alumni of the 2024 Cash Practitioner Development Programme, allowing practitioners to share what they have learnt and experienced during their Cash School learning deployments.
The Cash Practitioner Development Programme aims to expand the ready pool of cash experts available to deliver humanitarian cash assistance, and to strengthen the community of qualified practitioners with up-to-date skills in all areas of cash assistance. Cash deployments are a key element of participants learning schedules, these deployments aim to enhance skills and confidence in implementing cash based assistance. Some deployments are run in partnership with NORCAP, with practitioners accessing deployment opportunities from a range of humanitarian agencies.
Humanitarian professional with over 15 years of experience leading large-scale emergency and recovery programs, with a core specialization in Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA). As the national CVA focal point for the Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has successfully led CVA programming that reached over 30,000 beneficiaries and managed multi-donor budgets exceeding EUR 3.5 million annually.
She holds advanced credentials including the Cash Practitioner Development Programme (Cash Hub), PHAP Certification in CVA by International Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP), International Mobilization and Preparation for Action (IMPACT) by the British Red Cross, IFRC and ICRC, Practical Emergency Cash Transfer (PECT) by the IFRC, Market Assessment and Analysis Training (MAAT) by CashHub and Kenya Red Cross, and Rapid Market Assessment (RAM) by Austrian Red Cross, Red Cross of Serbia and IFRC.

Azra is a founder and lead coordinator of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cash Working Group (BiH CWG) listed at the CaLP Network, serving as its primary liaison and driving national coordination on cash-based responses. She has demonstrated leadership in designing national CVA strategies, co-leading the Balkan CVA Technical Working Group, and building institutional CVA preparedness through development of CVA SOPs and CVA Plan of Action. As a CVA trainer, she has delivered multiple trainings, including PECT hosted by the Qatar Red Crescent.
With deep expertise in financial management, procurement, and donor compliance (IFRC, ICRC, EU, SDC, UN, ADA, AICS), she is recognized for ethical leadership, operational excellence, and a collaborative, results-driven approach to effective humanitarian response. As a part of CPDP, Azra was deployed to IFRC Turkiye supporting the Kizilaykart Earthquake response and Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina supporting flood response.
