Cash and logistics
Logistics support is a critical pre-requisite to cash and voucher assistance at all stages, from preparedness to monitoring and evaluation. A timely engagement of logisticians, including in the cash feasibility assessment, market analysis, procurement and monitoring of suppliers, is necessary to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the different options to address the needs of communities. Logistics is also key to programme design, contributing to increasing the speed, scale and quality of CVA as a modality to deliver humanitarian assistance.

Capacity building for cash and logistics has been undertaken at the Movement level as part of the commitments to the “Grand Bargain” and the resolution on “Strengthening Movement Coordination and Cooperation (SMCC)”. Alongside the creation of guidance, tools and templates for logistics support to CVA, essential training needs are being identified to mainstream this knowledge across logisticians and procurement personnel of the Movement.
